Introducing Samsung Pay!

Samsung Pay is the mobile payment service that works almost anywhere you can swipe or tap your card. From local grocery stores to your favorite coffee shop or food truck, it’s highly secure and simple to use with the latest Samsung Galaxy Devices.*

What is Samsung Pay?

Samsung Pay is a safe and simple way to make mobile payments with select Samsung Galaxy devices, and it works at almost any retailer where you can swipe or tap your card.

Samsung Pay allows you to use the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Note 5 to make in-store mobile payments through the use of proprietary built-in technology. It works at more places than any other mobile payment service because the technology works on new card readers as well as most of those that have been in place for years.

How does Samsung Pay work?

Samsung Pay uses proprietary technology that works with both Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) and Near Field Communication (NFC) to make contactless mobile payments. MST and NFC enable the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Note 5 to make secure transactions at virtually every card reader where you can swipe or tap your card.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to launch the app.
  2. Secure your transaction with fingerprint authentication.
  3. Hover your device close to the card reader, about 1/2 inch over where you’d usually swipe a card.
  4. A gentle vibration will let you know payment is being transmitted, and the card reader or cashier will confirm the payment is complete.

How do I add my HCU debit or credit card to Samsung Pay?

Cards can be easily added to Samsung Pay by using your device’s camera to scan in your card’s information, or by manually inputting the card information yourself. Then, Samsung Pay will prompt you to verify your identity through a a phone call to Heartland Credit Union.
