HCU purchased this building in 2010 and renovated in 2011 as a Support Center for all HCU locations. In accordance with the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, through December 31, 2012, all funds in “noninterest-bearing transaction accounts” are insured in full by the National Credit Union Administration. This unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to members under the NCUA’s general share insurance rules.

NCUA Increases Share Insurance

As a part of the bailout bill recently signed into law, NCUA has increased the basic share insurance coverage limit from $100,000 to $250,000. This coverage took effect on October 3, 2008 and will stay effective through December 31, 2009. Actual coverage of your accounts can be quite a bit more.
