In response to growing needs in the community, Heartland Credit Union has donated $5,000 to the Reno County Food Bank to help fight hunger and support families during the holiday season. The credit union is now encouraging its members to match that donation by contributing an additional $5,000 by December 31, with the goal of raising a total of $10,000 to support local residents.

The USD 489 Foundation for Educational Excellence, in partnership with Heartland Credit Union, is proud to announce the launch of the Inspire 489 Award, a new initiative designed to recognize and celebrate exceptional staff members across Hays Public Schools. 

For the 2024-25 school year, Heartland Credit Union has awarded $3,250 in Celebrate Academic Success with HCU (CASH) Grants to fund 10 innovative projects. These grants will benefit nearly 1,500 students across multiple school districts, including Haysville USD 261, Valley Center USD 262, Maize USD 266, Fairfield USD 310, Buhler USD 313, Chaparral USD 361, Hays USD 489, and Lighthouse Academy.

As of midnight on September 30, the federal government has officially shut down following the lapse in funding. This shutdown affects a wide range of federal operations and personnel, and Heartland is committed to supporting our members during this uncertain time.

For the 2023-24 school year, Heartland Credit Union has awarded $3,800 for 10 projects through its Celebrate Academic Success with HCU (CASH) Grants. This year’s CASH Grants will affect more than 1,500 students in the following school districts: USD 261 (Haysville), USD 266 (Maize), USD 270 (Plainville), USD 308 (Hutchinson), USD 439 (Sedgwick), USD 452 (Stanton), USD 501 (Topeka), and Wichita Collegiate School.
